On August 10, the VA-WHPC members came together for their 4th community meeting. Panelists Jackie Milhans (North Western University), Lara Timm (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) and Rachel Spraker (University of Virginia) shared their personal experience as HPC professionals and advocates for diversity, equity and inclusion. They provided insights into challenges to being a woman or minority in the field of HPC and in academy more generally, engaging the audience in a stimulating discussion on how such challenges may be addressed to improve diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
