DESCRIPTION:Thank you to those who joined us for a special Virginia Women in High Performance Computing (VA-WHPC) event exploring the growing importance of cybersecurity. Our distinguished panelists shared their career journeys\, discussed emerging developments and challenges in the field\, and offered insights on how to begin and advance a career in cybersecurity. \n			\n						Watch the Recording\n					 \nWhen: December 10th\, 2025 | 1:00–2:00 p.m. EST \nPanelists: \nAmy Starzynski Coddens\, M.Ed. – Vice President of Training Services\, Ascend CyberAmy Starzynski Coddens recently joined Ascend Cyber as Vice President of Training Services. Before that\, she served as the Director of Strategic Security for the Universities of Wisconsin System. As a graduate of the Indiana University School of Education (M.S. ’06 & M.S. ’09) and Maurer School of Law (Graduate Certificate\, Cybersecurity Law and Policy ‘21)\, Amy previously served as the Strategic Partnerships Manager for the REN-ISAC and has a background in P-16 education\, research\, and outreach. She has worked in government\, industry\, and academia\, contributing to projects with the CMMC-Accreditation Body\, National Science Foundation\, NASA Education\, the New England Research Institute and Harvard’s PEAR Institute. A member of WiCyS\, EDUCAUSE\, and IAPP\, she has a passion for workforce development\, furthering equitable and inclusive efforts within the cybersecurity realm\, and ensuring that security and privacy are accessible to all. In her spare time\, she loves to travel\, read\, attend concerts\, and spend time with family (2 teenagers!). \nLaura Raderman\, M.S.\, MBA – ISO Policy & Compliance Coordinator\, Carnegie Mellon UniversityLaura Raderman has been in the cybersecurity industry for over 25 years\, first as a consultant to Fortune 50 companies\, and now as a Policy and Compliance Coordinator for Carnegie Mellon University’s Information Security Office for the last 11 years. At Carnegie Mellon University\, Laura is responsible for assisting all departments at the University to comply with various laws\, regulations and contractual agreements controlling information security.
